At Positively Autistic, we're dedicated to creating and educating positive autism awareness. We see the importance of 'positive' autism awareness. We started the journey in 2011, starting off with one online radio show, and from then on, it took off!
Ever since, we've been on a wonderful journey, and thanks to the support of those in the autism community, we've been able to continue what we enjoy doing, whilst seeing the importance of the education of what autism is, as well as showing off the superb work those on the Autism Spectrum can achieve.
Therapies
Autism Movement Therapy
On a weekly basis, Joe Westlake and Sophie Clark lead the Autism Movement Therapy sessions. If you would like to come along, they are run every Tuesday at King Street Studios in Newton Abbot, Devon, England. Sessions are 6.15 - 7.15pm. Autism Movement Therapy is a structured 45 minute movement & music body/brain based class for individuals with autism and related differences. There is no costs associated, although we do welcome donations, which goes towards the room hire and any other associated costs in which occur throughout the year.
Key Aims
To educate and create positive autism awareness
To hold fundraisers in order to enable the support and services can be retained
To make use of social media in order to support, advocate and understand the needs of those on the Autistic Spectrum
Social Media
A considerable amount of the work we do involves uses of social media; it's one of the most powerful tools that can be used in order to spread messages across the world! At Positively Autistic, we are able to implement our aims through the use of such social media, such as Facebook and Twitter. Additionally, our online radio shows also play a significant part of ensuring we can do this.
